Overhead Braced Partitions

The most common partition mounting style. A continuous headrail ties the tops of the pilasters together for stability while pilasters anchor into the floor.

How It's Built

Pilasters anchor into the finished floor with concealed brackets and pilaster shoes, then a horizontal anti-grip headrail spans across the tops of the pilasters and screws into the wall at each end. Panels and doors hang off the pilasters with continuous brackets. The headrail does most of the structural work, which is why this mounting style works on virtually every floor and ceiling type.

Why Specifiers Choose It

  • Lowest installed cost of any mounting style
  • Works on almost any floor and ceiling condition
  • Fastest installation — no overhead structural work
  • Easy to retrofit existing restrooms
  • Compatible with every partition material we sell

When to Choose Something Else

Skip overhead braced when the floor cannot be drilled (post-tension slab, radiant heat) — use ceiling hung. Skip when maximum vandal resistance is required (correctional facilities) — spec floor to ceiling.
